Spikes
Spikes are the highest demanded item in Animal Jam. They were the second Monthly Member gift (after the member gloves; Lava Gloves, Dragons Gloves, Mummy Gloves and Legendary Gloves) and came out in the month of July. It's unclear why the spikes have such a high demand. Many people think it's just because of the looks, Julian2 made them popular or too many people recycled them until they became rare and highly desired.
Spikes come in two forms - Collars and wrists. Both items can be long or short (long spikes generally have more 'spikes' and they tend to be a bit longer than the short spikes). Each come in eight colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink and Black.
Since spikes have such a high demand, they are obviously worth a lot. My buddy got two founders, an open sign and a wolf sidekix plushie for just a single long black spike.
The rarity from least to rarest goes Pink, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Green, Purple, Red and Black.
